First let me tell you that the European Trains are not what they are suppose to be. There are no trains which cross the Portugal - Spain boarder. Second the trains which I thought went every hour runs, I think, once a day from For to Cabanas. There is a bus from Faro to Tavira. I do not know how often it runs.
Our TD Travel Card only allows us to rent a car for 48 days then we must go 24 hours without a car. Well this is my translation, but in reality it does not say we cannot rent a car, it says we cannot rent a car with it. I realized late last week we could rent a car fora couple of days paying for insurance with another card.
Saturday I went on the Car Rentals web site but it would not let me rent a car because I did not have a flight number. I put no flight when I should have put walk in. I decided since we had a car there should be no problem renting it again with a new card. We got to Furo and found we could not do this. They had no cars to rent us, we would have to get back to Cabanas without a car. The very nice lady said she would make a call and about 20 minutes later we were on our way with the same car as we had been using.
Iw we had no car we would have used the Faro bus to get to the bus terminal. Then we would have gone by bus to Tavira followed by a third bus to Cabanas. This Sunday we go back to Faro and trade our expensive car $166 CAD for 3 days for our cheap car $400 CAD for 38 days.
Yesterday we got an email saying Laughlin, Katie and Sophia are arriving next Wednesday in Faro at 9:30 in the morning.
